Larry developed an interest in Pharmacy at a very early age. His father David Macklin was a pharmacist and founded Dundee Pharmacy in 1968. As a teenager, Larry worked at the pharmacy as a cashier, delivery driver and then as a pharmacy technician.
“I learned everything about the independent pharmacy business from my father. Back in the day, the customers of the pharmacy would seek out my father’s opinion regarding all of their healthcare needs. My father taught me that a patient’s pharmacist can be their primary source of knowledge; that has also been my philosophy since I became a pharmacist. I want my patients to feel as comfortable talking to me, if not more so, as they would their primary doctor,” says Larry.
After passing the Pharmacy boards in 1986, Larry went to work for Dundee Pharmacy, and is still the pharmacist-in-charge here.
Larry lives in Northbrook with his wonderful wife Kruti. They have three amazing daughters; Emily, Olivia and Tatum. Larry is a huge Cubs fan and an avid golfer. He enjoys hiking and long walks. “I am definitely a cat person!,” says Larry.
